Why people need flowers?

Actually the answer is simple and there is nothing to wonder about in this question. People need flowers because they think those are beautiful and they like flowers and this is the way for people to express their feelings or to make a present and so on. People need flowers because flowers are beautiful and when you give a bunch of flowers to some person this person smiles and you know you did something good, you gave positive emotions and joy to this person together with your flowers. Though, what I can’t get is why people bring flowers for funerals. I mean, a person is dead and there is nothing on this earth that can make a dead one happy and he or she will never see those flowers, so, why people bring flowers for funerals? Why they need those flowers they will throw away because a dead person won’t take those with him or with her and this person need no flowers. That is the tricky thing about flowers and that is what I can’t get. I don’t understand why bringing flowers for dead people who can’t see those.
